For years now Martin & Co have been helping Landlords to rent and increase their portfolios through careful acquisition via their award-winning Letting Agency, and now it seems that they are bowing to customer demand to build an Estate Agency arm to compliment their business.
Introducing Lambert & Co, York’s newest and freshest Estate Agency. Located in Bishopthorpe Road and headed by Sales Manager, Denise Baker MNAEA, the company already has a substantial number of properties on their books to sell.
Co-founder and Managing Director, Mike Lambert, explained: “For many years Landlords looking to sell their investment or acquire further portfolio stock have asked us for help in trying to find them a good selling agent. In the past we have passed on these referrals only to receive mixed feedback regarding the service they later experienced. So we believe that, rather than relinquish that valuable business, we should retain it in the knowledge that we are able to give our customers exactly what they expect and are used to - an excellent bespoke service from people they already know and trust. This same principal will also be applied to all residential sales.”

Commenting on the current climate and his predictions for the forthcoming year, Mike said: “Although times are tough and the Estate Agency business has received a severe bashing over the past 18 months, signs are that the market will continue to slowly improve. There has been positive news on the housing market over the last month, with Nationwide’s house price index showing increases for each of the last 2 months and a net fall of only 0.8% in the first 4 months of this year. We have seen an increased interest from both first time buyers and movers and some of that interest is now translating into sales. There has also been a significant improvement in affordability as a result of a 20% drop in house prices and lower mortgage rates.”
